Does anyone know the rules of the beach there? I've only been once
and I didn't check on it. I figured since it's out of season you
might be allowed to. I appreciate any help.

In a word, no, not legally. If the cops on horseback don't get you,
you can bet some property owner will bust you.

You *might* get away with it, but it will depend upon the beach and
the jurisdiction. Charleston the City has no beach, but the Isle of
Palms, Folly Beach, and the County of Charleston all administer
beaches near Charleston. That means park rangers or cops.

There is no undeveloped beach front near Charleston. Either the
Beaches have incorporated into a town, or it's managed as a park. Any
way you slice it, you wind up dealing with cops, rangers, or year
round residents who are insanely jealous of their and their neighbors
beach front.

Your best bet for on or near the beach camping in SC would more than
likely be Huntington Beach SP between Georgetown and Murelles Inlet or
Edisto Island SP 30 miles South of the City of Charleston.

BTW, there is no *out of season* at the beach in SC. Sure, some
attractions close down, but most places stay open for the Canadians,
or Conventioneers who visit throughout the winter. Came across a
group of them one time swimming at North Myrtle Beach. Must 've been
200 or so folks enjoying the waves while I was shivering in my jogging
suit one fine very brisk mid Feb. morning.

See Ya!
